Frontier
EV Cooling Nozzle
Designed
to help cool electric vehicle battery fires from underneath the vehicle.
Electric
vehicle fires can be extremely challenging for fire crews. Unlike traditional
internal combustion vehicle fires, EV battery fires can take longer to control
because the battery cells are difficult to access, hard to cool, and may
continue to generate heat through thermal runaway. This heat can cause cells to
reignite or spread from one battery cell to another.
The Frontier
EV Cooling Nozzle is designed to help address these challenges by
delivering a wide cooling spray pattern underneath the vehicle, directing water
toward the battery area where cooling is needed most.
This
compact cooling unit can be slid underneath vehicles with as little as 5.5
inches of ground clearance, allowing crews to apply cooling water beneath
the vehicle without needing direct battery access. The unit connects to
conventional fire hose using a 1.5" NPSH double female coupling and
is designed to provide effective coverage with controlled water flow.
The Frontier Cooling Nozzle uses approximately 40–60 GPM and provides a 4 ft x 8 ft
coverage area at 5.5" vehicle ground clearance, making it a practical
and efficient tool for EV fire response, overhaul, and battery cooling
operations.

Note
Electric
vehicle fires can present unique hazards and may require extended cooling,
monitoring, and department-specific response procedures. Always follow your
department’s EV fire response guidelines, manufacturer recommendations, and
applicable safety procedures.
